As we have said in previous posts, El Jou has plenty of space. The hotel is originally a «masia», medieval rural houses linked to agricultural uses, which has been extended with new architectural volumes. Now, there are two main divisions, the «old» El Jou, which includes the original «masia» and some communal spaces, and the «new» El Jou, which includes rooms and a banquet hall with its kitchen.
The Restaurant is in the old Masia, specifically where the stables were.
To optimize the use of spaces, and heating, and water, and electric power, we have thought to start using a floor in the new El Jou, next to the kitchen of the banquet hall.
Rooms are big, four star sized, with fireplace, and with space enough for a big desk and long ocupations of single and double rooms. Our idea is to prepare two rooms as common work and living rooms, and use the kitchen as a place for lunch, dinner and breakfast.
That also allows us to have guest rooms, and to heat and use only half of the hotel when there are no passing clients, and to use the other half of the hotel without interfere too much with the life of the residents.
This part of the hotel has two floors, so it would be easy to expand the number of residents keeping at minimum the expenses of maintenance and heating.
